Adventures in Digital Studies interests me as it combines elements of preserved history, democratized and disseminated into an online space. As the internet only becomes more powerful, it is important to understand its capabilities, especially in the conversation of history. The separation between Digital History and Digital Humanities can appear as blurred; however, when you think of Digital Humanities as a home with rooms, the layout of its elements begins to make sense in the space. Digital History can be seen as a room within the home of Digital Humanities. Digital History uses technologies of representation, computation, and communication to the specific sources, questions, and interpretive frameworks of the historical discipline. Digital History focuses on democratizing the past by utilizing the web to reach audiences beyond scholarly researchers. Digital History is deeply influenced by the field of public history.
Rather than a single unified field, Digital Humanities acts as a host to the interdisciplinary studies that can be expressed through digital tools. It is a space where the entry points of interdisciplinary studies come together into a central space where scholars from different backgrounds gather to work with specific tools and media.
